    Cumberland Terrace, Regents Park NW1

How we installed internal water-cooled AC systems to air condition apartments in Cumberland Terrace, Regents Park, an iconic London terrace

Cumberland Terrace is an iconic Grade II-listed building in the heart of Central London, near Regents Park. Recently, we installed state-of-the-art internal air conditioning systems in several apartments on this historic terrace.

The challenge was to provide effective air conditioning without compromising the building’s architectural integrity. Due to stringent planning restrictions, external condensers and drilling external holes were not allowed. However, our expertise in air-conditioning apartments within listed buildings allowed us to devise a fitting solution.

After extensive consultations with the owners, we implemented A ****-rated energy-efficient DC inverter water-cooled internal condensers. These innovative systems were the perfect fit, allowing us to keep all components fully contained within the properties and meeting the strict planning requirements.

Most of the installations took place during the apartments’ refurbishment, which allowed for the concealment of all refrigerant pipework between the condensers and the room units. As a result, no planning permission was necessary to install our advanced air conditioning systems in these elegant apartments within Cumberland Terrace.

    Project One
The internal condenser was located within a utility cupboard in the hall, close to the incoming services. The refrigerant pipework was routed through the en-suite bathroom and connected to a quiet DC inverter high wall room unit in the master bedroom.

    For this project we installed:

    Master Bedroom 1 x 3.5kw (12,000btu) water-cooled DC Inverter condenser
to serve: 1 x 3.5kw (12,000btu) DC Inverter high wall unit

    Project Two
The internal condenser was housed within an airing cupboard adjacent to the master bedroom and close to the incoming services. The quiet DC inverter concealed ducted room unit was located high up in a fitted wardrobe. Using custom designed joinery the whole system was completely hidden except for a discrete bespoke grille.

    For this project we installed:

    Master Bedroom 1 x 3.5kw (12,000 Btu) water-cooled DC Inverter condenser
    to serve:
1 x 3.5kw (12,000 Btu) DC Inverter concealed ducted room unit
