Air Conditioning in Ivory House, St Katharine Docks
See how Cool You installed air conditioning in Ivory House, St Katharine Docks. We have recently completed the first phase of the installation within an apartment in this Grade 2 listed building overlooking the docks and near Tower Hamlets in London.
Ivory House was built in 1858 and is the only original warehouse in St Katharine Docks today.
As a listed building, the apartment owners were restricted in their options when considering retrofitting air conditioning. A conventional outside condenser unit was not permitted. They also needed planning permission to drill vent holes to fit through the wall air conditioning units.
When faced with the challenge of retrofitting air conditioning in a listed building, the owners of Ivory House turned to Cool You. We proposed a unique solution, a state-of-the-art, entirely internal air conditioning system. This system, which required no external work, was seamlessly integrated into the apartment’s services, utilising the dressing room adjacent to the primary bedroom. Cool You have successfully implemented this solution in many projects in listed buildings where more conventional air conditioning systems were impossible to install due to planning restrictions.
One key benefit of our solution is the ease and speed of the installation process. The owners of Ivory House did not need to obtain planning permission. The entire installation was completed in just one day without any disruption. Our customers were left with a cool and comfortable home, reassured by our service’s efficiency.
For this project, we installed:
Master Bedroom: 1 x 3.5kw (13000btu) DC Inverter Water Cooled Internal Condenser
1 x High Wall Air Conditioning Unit
