Air Conditioning in Ivory House, St Katharine Docks
Cool You installed an air conditioning system in Ivory House, located at St Katharine Docks. The apartment is in this Grade II-listed building, which boasts remarkable views of the docks.
Ivory House, constructed in 1858, remains the only original warehouse in St Katharine Docks today.
However, due to its status as a listed building, the apartment owners faced planning restrictions for retrofitting an air conditioning system. Conventional outside condenser units were prohibited. Also, planning permission was required to create vent holes for wall-mounted air conditioning units.
In light of these challenges, the owners of Ivory House sought a solution from Cool You.
We proposed a cutting-edge, entirely internal air conditioning system that does not need planning permission. This innovative solution was seamlessly integrated into the apartment’s infrastructure, which does not require external modifications or outside condensers. We utilised the dressing room adjacent to the primary bedroom to house the internal condenser. Cool You has successfully implemented this approach in numerous projects involving listed buildings where traditional air conditioning systems were prohibited due to planning restrictions.
A significant advantage of our solution is the quick installation process. The entire installation was accomplished within a single day with minimal disruption. Our clients were left with a cool and comfortable living environment and were notably impressed by our service’s efficiency.
For this project, we installed:
Master Bedroom: 1 x 3.5kw (13000btu) DC Inverter Water Cooled Internal Condenser
1 x High Wall Air Conditioning Unit
